The Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) seeks a Water Quality Intern for a part-time (20 hrs/wk), temporary (13 wks, subject to extension) internship. The internship position will provide opportunities to work on GBF’s water quality outreach programs, including the Boater Waste Education Campaign, Oyster Waters TMDL Implementation Plan, and Clean Water Partnerships, all of which address the issue of improving water quality in Galveston Bay. The Water Quality Intern will assist in tasks such as: developing and managing a crowd source mapping app for environmental reporting; carrying out volunteer water quality monitoring training sessions; collecting, inputting, and tracking survey data; planning, preparing, and participating in outreach events; writing press releases, web content, and other forms of communication materials; and conducting online research on a variety of topics relating to water quality. The candidate should be a current junior- or senior-level undergraduate student or graduate student, or hold a degree in water resource management, environmental science, or a related field.
